Call to Worship (Responsive)

Adapted from Psalm 23

L: The LORD is my shepherd,

P: I shall not want.

L: He makes me lie down in green pastures;

P: He leads me beside still waters;

L: He restores my soul.

P: He leads me in right paths for his name’s sake.

L: Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life,

P: And I shall dwell in the house of the LORD forever.

Invocation:

We come into your sanctuary, O God, so that we can devote ourselves to the teaching and fellowship, and to the breaking of bread and the prayers. We look for signs of your presence, and the blessing of glad and generous hearts. Accept our praise this day, O God, and warm our hearts. We ask your blessing in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord.

Stewardship Moment:

What makes your heart sing? What gives your soul a lift? What brings you here? Whatever it is: the singing, the prayers, the preaching, the gathering of believers, it happens because someone made gifts to God. When we pass the offering plates to receive your gifts, know we are thankful for all you bring before the Lord, because through your gifts, others will find the things which make their hearts sing, and their souls lift to God.

Offertory Prayer:

Gracious and wonderful God, you meet us in so many ways, and lift our spirits and guide our hearts. Receive these offerings O God, so that others will come to know the blessings you have bestowed on each one of us here.

Communion Meditation:

Jesus came that we may have life, and have it abundantly. We come to this table that we we may have grace, and have it abundantly. It really is that simple! Thanks be to God! Let us receive the gifts of grace from Christ our Lord, who gives us life abundant.
