Stewardship Study Document

The Center for Faith and Giving is pleased to share with you the Study Document for the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) that was received at the Indianapolis General Assembly, on July 12, 2017.  The document is available in English, Spanish, French, Korean, and Haitian Creole.

Thank you for your prayerful consideration of this important document and for your moving the conversation of stewardship deeper into the life of your congregation by engaging this document and discussing its implications for our shared life together.  We also want to note that at this time, curriculum is being developed for elementary, middle school, and high school ages, as well as for adults that will explore the study document in detail and consider its application in the spiritual development of a disciple of Jesus.  Its design will allow for multiple applications: small group material, Sunday school curriculum, retreat settings, and Vacation Bible School (elementary graded materials only).   Designed to be five weeks/days of study, it will offer suggestions for shorter or longer versions.

We believe the document is of little value if it does not find its way into congregation life.  Our prayers are with you as you consider the study now, and as you prepare to use the curriculum when it becomes available.  Our goal for the curriculum is that it will be complete and ready for use following Easter (April 1, 2018).  You might plan now to do a “post Easter” bible study or small group experience that will utilize the curriculum and its supporting materials.
