Call to Worship (Responsive)
Adapted from Psalm 138
L: Praise the LORD with all of your heart;
P: We will bow down and praise God’s name.
L: Though the LORD is exalted, God looks kindly on lowly;
P: Though I walk in the midst of trouble, God preserves my life.
L:  God’s love endures forever,
P: And God will never abandon the work of God’s hands.
One who is both near and far, ever present and ever loving, we come into your sanctuary, seeking to know your goodness and grace.  Guide us in our worship, and help us to draw near to you.  Speak to us, O God, and help us to hear your word.  We honor and glorify your name by the Grace of Son, Jesus the Christ.
Stewardship Moment:
When Jesus taught the Disciples to pray, he included a petition for God to provide daily bread.  It is important to remember, that in Bible times, bread meant hospitality as well as security.  When we prepare our offerings, it is both out of our sense of security and our sense of the abundance God gives so that we can be good hosts in God’s name.  As the offering is received, I hope you will remember that what God has given you, God will continue to give, so that you too, can give generously.  Let us now receive the tithes and offerings which will become this church’s daily bread.
Offertory Prayer:
God of abundance, God of Grace, Almighty God who is the giver of all good things, we come before you with these our gifts.  We pray that you will use them to provide bread for the world, and peace among all.
Communion Meditation:
In Colossians chapter two, Paul reminds the church “Just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your live in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.” This is what we do at the table.  We continue our lives which started at Baptism.  On those roots, we strengthen our faith, and overflow with thankfulness.  Come to the table with thankfulness and praise for Christ our Lord, and all he has done for us.
