For those who have made generosity an intentional and sustained practice
Engaged givers have already established a meaningful pattern of financial support for the congregation. This letter begins with gratitude, connects their giving with ministry, and invites them to consider whether this is a season to take another faithful step.
Use the sample as a starting point, then make it your own. Name the ministry your congregation is doing, the possibilities ahead, and the difference generosity is making in your particular community.
Sample Letter
Dear [NAME],
I want to begin with a simple and heartfelt thank you. Your generosity helps make the ministry we share possible. Because you have chosen to invest faithfully in this congregation, lives are being touched, neighbors are being served, and our church is able to respond to God’s call with courage and hope.
One of the joys of giving is seeing what becomes possible when we share what we have. Our gifts become worship and welcome, care and compassion, formation and service. This year, I have been especially grateful for [name a ministry, new opportunity, or area of growth]. It is one example of what we can do together that none of us could accomplish alone.
Our God is generous—a God whose abundant love is revealed to us in Jesus Christ. Our generosity is one way we respond to that love and participate in God’s transforming work in the world.
As we begin [Campaign Name], we will be sharing stories of the ministry our giving makes possible and imagining where God may be calling us next. Each of us will also have an opportunity to consider our own response.

Remember: Make It Yours
The most effective stewardship letter sounds like your congregation, not a template. Before sending, add a story, name a ministry, and give people a glimpse of what their generosity makes possible. Specificity turns a good letter into an invitation people can see themselves in. Sign the letter by hand. Make sure names are correct in the address. The details make a difference! They show genuine care for the person receiving the letter and remind them that faithful stewardship is always about people, not simply dollars.
